Hi my name is Nikki, Before I received Christ: My name is Nikki, born and raised in Morganton NC. As an only child, my mother raised me by herself with the help of her parents, my grandmother and grandfather. My grandfather replaced my emptiness of a father figure, I looked up to him and wanted to make sure he was always proud of me. He died in my 11th year in High School and my world shattered, as I grieved I surrounded myself w/people who were not Christian’s who abused me emotionally. Taking advantage of the fact that I could party, and come and go as I pleased because I didn’t have a father to answer to. All of my friends were getting married and having babies so I thought that I needed to do the same so I followed for the wrong reasons and as a result my first marriage failed because I was not with God nor was any of the people I chose to allow into my life. I lost my security, my earthly father, and so I was sinking deeply into insecurity with others, and myself I was drifting further and further away…… After My Life Changing Experience with Christ: One summer I went to visit with my aunt in Goldsboro, NC and all of our family was visiting due to a recent birth and my aunt’s mother-in-law was there. Her nickname was Geeze and she and I were in the living room one-night talking. She asked me if I had ever been saved and received the free pardon of sin into my life. I knew that Geeze was a very Godly woman because of the way she spoke to her son but no one in my family had ever asked me this before and all along I desired this so much. She shared with me that Jesus died for my sins and that he was buried and three days later rose again. That night in my aunt’s living room in Goldsboro, NC she lead me to Christ, she prayed the sinner’s prayer w/ me and I confessed my sins and Jesus came into my heart. At that moment I gave my life to Christ and my life has been forever changed. Life with Christ Today: Today my life w/ Jesus Christ is real and alive! I am content & confident w/ myself. I am a sinner at nature but redeemed (made anew) by my father and have learned that just because I had an earthly father for a short time, Jesus has always been & forever will be my Gracious Heavenly Father that I have always desired. My Lord sent me a wonderful husband and has blessed me with my children. Thru storms & thru harmony I am assured of Jesus’ love and desire to draw me near to him always! Nikki C. |
